Some transactions are about more than real estate.
After well over a century as part of Rock Hall's Main Street, the original Durding's and adjacent Meyers Store have officially changed hands. Before becoming Durding's, the building was home to Rock Hall's first apothecary, owned by Alpheus Sharp—one of the co-founders of Merck Sharp & Dohme (now Merck). Over the years, it served as a pharmacy, soda fountain, candy and ice cream shop, and gift store, becoming part of the memories of generations of locals and visitors.
I'm grateful to have represented the buyers in this purchase and excited to see them begin the careful work of bringing this landmark back to life while honoring its history. Rock Hall has always valued its past, and I'm looking forward to seeing what's next for one of its most recognizable buildings.
A special thank you to Cindy Genther for her professionalism and partnership throughout this transaction. It was a pleasure working together to bring this historic property to a successful closing.
